Since early June, a Mât Source universal fountain has been welcoming residents and visitors to Daniel Caruhel Square in Granville.
Designed for everyone, it addresses two key challenges:
✔️ making it easier to access drinking water during heat waves
✔️ and encouraging the use of reusable water bottles to reduce reliance on plastic bottles.
Before the system was put into service, our teams conducted the necessary bacteriological tests and then oversaw the connection of the equipment to the drinking water system.
As Ouest-France points out, this facility is a “small but essential step” in the fight against climate change.
Granville provides a very concrete example of how local governments can create new places to cool off—accessible to everyone—right in the heart of public spaces.
